Torilena's (she/they) music is genre fluid, gender fluid, shape shifting pop/rock - telling quirky stories about identity and relationships - woven into emotionally resonant anthems.

Raised in West London, their sound is shaped by the sounds around them growing up — whether pop, rock, and soul on the radio, or reggae and world influences from friends / in the streets — synthesised into three-minute songs of fierce storytelling and queer defiance.

A native of the diverse working-class neighborhoods of West London, their music was shaped by the sounds around them growing up — whether pop, rock, and soul on the radio, or reggae and world influences from friends / in the streets — synthesised into fierce storytelling and queer defiance. Their musical training began with classical piano, but once they caught the rock music bug, there was no turning back!

Over the years, Torilena honed their craft through countless gigs, from showbands that funded her studies to the London pub rock scene with Bon Temps Roulez. After moving to San Francisco in 2000, they were a co-founder of Lipstick Conspiracy, one of the first all-trans female rock bands, receiving notable regional recognition. They then went on to release their debut solo EP - Stories - in 2023, and perform regularly around the Bay Area.

Torilena is currently working on their second EP - Reveries - in the Lady Cave Studios, due to be released early 2026!
